                Agreement: By downloading, installing, or using the Heartbound app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the app.
            

1. About Heartbound

Heartbound is a digital companion app for tabletop role-playing games, specifically designed for Daggerheart. The app provides character management tools, GM utilities, and campaign organization features.

2. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Heartbound for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms of Service.

You May:

Use the app for personal tabletop gaming
Create and manage characters, campaigns, and game content
Export your data for backup purposes
Use the app offline

You May Not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Remove or modify any copyright notices or proprietary markings
Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Distribute or resell access to the app
Create derivative works based on the app

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscription Tiers

Heartbound offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscriptions (monthly and yearly) that unlock all premium features.

Free Tier Limitations

Maximum of 2 characters
Maximum of 30 inventory items per character
GM tools are not available
Compendium access is not available

Payment and Billing

Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play Store
Payments are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by us
Subscription prices are subject to change with notice
Taxes may apply based on your location

Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store or Google Play
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies
No refunds are available for unused portions of subscription periods

4. User Content and Data

Your Data

You retain ownership of all characters, campaigns, and content you create in Heartbound. Your data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

Data Responsibility

You are responsible for:

Backing up your game data
Ensuring you have adequate device storage
Not sharing inappropriate or illegal content
Respecting intellectual property rights when creating content

Important: We are not responsible for any loss of your game data. Please regularly export and backup your characters and campaigns.

5. Intellectual Property

The Heartbound app, including its code, design, features, and trademarks, is owned by Raul Brito and protected by intellectual property laws.

Daggerheart: Daggerheart is a trademark of Darrington Press LLC. Heartbound is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Darrington Press or Critical Role.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Heartbound is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to:

Loss of data or game content
Interruption of gaming sessions
Device damage or malfunction
Any other economic loss

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Heartbound at any time, with or without cause, including if you violate these Terms of Service.

Upon termination:

Your right to use the app ends immediately
You may lose access to premium features
Your locally stored data remains on your device
No refunds will be provided for unused subscription time

9. Updates and Changes

App Updates

We may release updates to improve functionality, add features, or fix bugs. Some updates may be required to continue using the app.

Terms Changes

We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or email. Your continued use after changes indicates acceptance of the new terms.

10. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

11. Severability

If any part of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to be valid and enforceable.
